I thought in this blog post I would share some photos from 2025. I decided to share some photos for each month.
JANUARY
FEBRUARY
In February a lot of us concerningly thought we would experience our very first cyclone, thankfully that didn’t come to pass, but we got an absolute heap of rain! Below is some video footage showing how our farm coped with it:

The Steers are doing well:
The feed has dried off, but the animals are still doing well with only apple cider vinegar, salt, sulfur and a multi vitamin supplement:

This month #10 calved for the fourth time and again needed our help to get her calf feeding:

AUGUST

SEPTEMBER
We attended the Laidley Spring Festival for the first time with Matt Golinski showcasing our produce:
Looks like there is little feed on the flats, but up the hills is still producing well through Winter:
OCTOBER
Maple had her calf – a girl we called Strawberry:
Violet had a Toby, a bull calf:
Time to start milking again!
NOVEMBER
Paddocks are starting to get new growth:
An abandoned beef calf a few days old found our small dairy herd and made herself a part of it, her name is #67{
Mocha, Cadbury’s calf was born around the same time and shares mum with # 67:
#67 loves to steal milk from anyone who will let her! It’s quite an achievement to drink off Maple as she is very jealous of who uses her udder.
DECEMBER
We started selling a new product, Maple’s Marvelous Bathmilk. This venture is still in its infancy but we had a great start this month as customers jumped at the chance to buy it.
We don’t seem to have achieved as much this last year as we have in previous years, no more infrastructure was implemented, or big decisions made.
We attended the Mulgowie Farmer’s Market for another year and for all those who have supported us, we have a BIG thank you. Hopefully our understanding of what you all want has improved as has our knowledge of how to utilize the whole animal in a way that is appealing to most.
A BIG, BIG thank you to all who have bought mince! Lots and lots of mince!
At the end of 2025, we had the most calves on the ground since we started this crazy scheme five years ago, at about a 75% calving rate which is a great improvement. We hope to see this continue. It will mean our ability to provide high quality, grassfed, chemical free, local beef to our community will increase.
